Do holding a looting 3 sword have an effect on hostile zombie pigman when they die from fall damage?

I'm currently trying to build a zombie pig farm which relies on one or more trapped angry pigmen to propagate anger to newly spawned pigmen in the area. However, I'm having trouble getting this effect to work consistently!
This idea (which I learned later is not new!) was inspired by several incidents in which I accidentally clipped a pigman with my pickaxe, forcing me to retreat to my nether base to wait it out. In at least two cases I can remember, I remained at the main gate for an hour killing off waves of pigmen, hoping to kill off all the angry ones. Then I realized there was a pigman trapped in the netherack nearby who kept exciting the newly spawned pigmen. Once I tunneled through the netherack and killed off this pigman, the waves stopped. This behavior seems to conform to the observations you report in the video.
However, upon building an artificial structure (similar to that designed by Snocrash, but within the Nether), I have been finding that once a nearby trapped pigman has been angered once, subsequent calls to arms by that same angered pigman are ignored by newly spawned pigmen. If I have several trapped pigmen, and anger any one of them, they all get angry. But then later if I re-anger any one of them, the anger does not spread to the new pigmen. Of course, if I anger any newly spawned pigman, the anger spreads as expected. Also, if I switch to Creative, and then back to Survival, and then re-anger one of the trapped pigmen, the anger spreads to new pigmen as expected.
Any suggestions as to what factors might cause the anger to spread or not, and how to make this effect work consistently? -

I am recently building a Pigmen farm and one question popped up my mind watching this Episode. Are Pigmen effected by the hostile mob spawn radius? I read the wiki article about how they spawn and what I've learned from there I doubt it. Also it would be pretty easy to test for myself but I thought maybe everyone deserves to know. So you could put this in a mini myth episode.
Thanks for taking the time to do all these Vids. realy appreciate it -
Do you or anyone know the range of how far the aggrivation travels too aggrivate nearby pigmens? Or is it only how far you are away from them? Thinking i can do a bigger farm if i capture 2 pigmens on either side they will improve the range of angry pigmans. Basically its like the dougnout farm you have, but bigger with more layers.

so do you have to sit in the nether for like 13 minutes or can you leave?

I wish it was easier to de-aggro a pigman. maybe by holding out a gold sword or some new enchantment or potion. Potion of calming! when splashed on a zombie pigman it calms all pigmen in a radius around that pigman.

what are the mechanics of them spawning in an overworld nether-portal?
Is it true that the taller it is the more chance there is of a Pigman spawning? -
Recently, in 1.8.4, a Blazeman that was trying to hit me, hit a zombie pigman instead, and all surrounding zombie pigmen started attacking. I did NOT hit the pigman. Hav you heard of this? Is this normal, or a bug?

Does speed effect squids and guardians when in and out of water?
-
I'm in 1.8 and I accidentally hit a pigman and its been over 20 mins. and they are still aggro... why?
-
What can you do on top of the nether !!!
-
has anyone else had problems with pigmen automatically spawning aggressive? no matter what i do, whenever i set foot in the nether (even without attacking any of them) they suddenly swarm me from all over the area, even swimming through lava from different islands and spawning inside my blocked off areas to kill me. I had a tunnel ~100 blocks long, ends blocked off so nothing could enter and pigmen are still showing up to kill me even though i haven't hit them in 20+ minutes

I still have a queation how can you lose the pigmans when you made them mad???
