In Oregon, a bike ride is often more than just a bike ride. It's a chance to spend time with good friends, slow down and pedal at your own pace, and take in the countryside and a good meal. And there's no better place to let your appetite guide your bike than on the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway, a 132-mile route beginning in Champoeg State Park southwest of Portland that winds through hopyards, vineyards, fields and farm stands to Eugene. It's a two-wheeled epicurean adventure where "farm fresh" takes on a whole new meaning. http://rideoregonride.com/road-routes/willamette-valley-scenic-bikeway/

My advice is avoid the dangerous River Road in Salem. It looks like @1:00. Take the bike path along Highway 22 instead (a wide shoulder with a sidewalk option). There is now a bike/pedestrian only bridge over the Willamette river in Salem to Hwy 22. Eventually, cross the overpass near Rickreall and take the bike path or Highway 99 shoulder for 6 miles into Monmouth. I don't know about the rest of the route.

where do I sign up for this?

Many of our (NZ) bikeways are off road, along disused rail lines and the like. Are yours mostly competing with traffic?

Looks perfect :O)
