The Wildweed Cottage in West Granby is a great example of the the movement back to the country in the early part of the 20th century. Hartford city folks bought old farms and built small weekend homes in the small rural community of Granby starting early in the 20th century. They also formed private clubs for swimming and tennis. Both of these are located just seconds from this little home. This 2 bedroom charmer has had relatively few changes from the time it was built, save the kitchen and bath. The magnificent open floor systems with exposed floor joist and bolted beams is a great example of the Craftsman period. A warm and sunny porch, charming arbor and field stone fireplace all add to the quaintness of this pleasant home
