WildPurveyorsMarket.com Wild edible is a very general term for something that you can find in the wild that is edible. We collect mushrooms. We collect wild berries, wild herbs, wild greens, wild fruits. If it grows in Western Pennsylvania, and it's edible, at this point we pretty much are aware of it, if not collecting it in its season. We go to the most pristine areas in our region to find these, these plants, and once you understand where these plants grow, what kind of environment they need to grow and what season, you're more looking for an environment than you are for an actual plant. So along with supporting local agriculture we work with farms all over Pennsylvania, and we source product from them and primarily move it to restaurants. I think the most important thing is being a part of the community. To have a sustainable food system, there needs to be active members on every level, so we maintain relationships with the producer, with the farmer and then bring it to the people who are gonna help get it to the consumer like the restaurants that we work with, the markets that we work with, not just the farmers' market but like, East End Food Co-Op and places like that. Essentially, what Wild Purveyors does for CSA is we do supplements. We don't do a broad variety package where you're gonna get a little bit of all these different things that are available throughout the season because the farms that we work with, they do that so well. What we offer is a supplement to that, and we do a mushrooms CSA, a cheese CSA and a meat CSA currently, and we're gonna be expanding on that, so that people can get that from us directly through some different sources and continue to get it through the farms that we work with like Kretschmann Organic Farm. One of the greatest joys in life for me, I think, is kinda working in harmony with food to produce something that is, you know, not only beautiful but delicious. One of the reasons why like I really love working with the chefs is because they're kinda going off that same thing. For me, it's one of the coolest things in life is to be able to go out in the woods, find something that's edible, take it home, turn it into something that's beautiful and delicious. Being able to make sure that myself and my family has the opportunity to select what we eat from our local environment and being able to share that with anyone and everyone that is interested in doing so, that's what keeps me going every day, making sure that we can all do that.
