Walter Peak Station, founded in 1860, is a 25,758 hectare working high country sheep station on the southern shore of Lake Wakatipu. It runs approximately 18,000 Merino and Perendale sheeps and about 800 beef cows (Scottisch Highland Cattle); there are also some deers. Here, for all those city dwellers, is a chance to see Sheep dogs in action, they show you how clever they are, and just how much time they save the Sheep farmer. You also get knowing everything about shearing sheeps. Different kind of sheeps. And there is a weaving demonstration with a spinning weel. It is also a chance to learn a little about farming and to meet and greet some other farm animals. And Mr. Lindsay has an absolutely wicked sense of humour. Newer improved and a little bit longer version. First version 49 views and 12 reactions.
