Spend their whole life in a cage. That must be some low grade fur.
-
I would like to work there
-
So they're confined to a cage their entire life and they dare to call their execution ethical?
-
They dont give 2 shits about the minks.
-
modern nazis right there

Unless a person is vegan in diet, refuses most all medications and medical treatments, has no pets, wears no leather or fur they are a total hypocrite to call this abuse of animals. We are a naked human. We use animals for clothing as we have not any coat of our own and we eat animals for needed protein and we have them as pets. How many people watch this and call it abuse then go eat meat, dairy, fish, eggs etc? Then check their blood sugar and take insulin from animals or synthetic developed by animal experiments. Nothing wrong with wearing fur. It is a natural and sustainable resource for clothing.

I'm so disappointed that such a good school in my town does such awful things to animals. Shame on you for believing animal exploitation is okay.

LOL, someone is a marketing major!

The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness (July 7, 2012) An international group of prominent scientists has signed The Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness in which they are proclaiming their support for the idea that animals are conscious and aware to the degree that humans are — a list of animals that includes all mammals, birds, and even the octopus. “The weight of evidence indicates that humans are not unique in possessing the neurological substrates that generate consciousness,” the s

Poor animals, thats no way to live.wouldnt they love to be able to really live their life-free... Thats why I wont wear fur.
-
a nice narrators voice and viewings of good care for the animal does not make it OK. People dont need MINK, it is a unnecessary luxury.
-
those lucky minks. domestic and can be pets, they are fed well, looked afterwell, its like keeping a a fish in a fish tank it doesnt know the other world so it dont care aslong as its happy, we farm vegetables i mena think of those poor vegetables for those vegans

"One day it was just brought up to me I should consider things from the animal's point of view... and I really stopped and I thought about that. I thought I always do that with my dog. Why aren't I doing that with the animals that I eat? Why aren't I thinking what it's like for the chicken, or the pig, or the cow going to the slaughterhouse ? What is the difference between them and my dog ? One is lucky enough to be born an animal in our culture that is considered a companion animal...."

this is ethical???!!!!!! wow.....
-
Joe Sims do you think it is ethical to confine an animal in a cage their entire life, then kill them and use their skin for fur, when it is completely unnecessary when synthetic materials keep us just as warm ? The inescapable fact that a large, profitable industry like this does not want to state is that animals, like mink, feel pain, and suffer. That mother nature adapted them to live life free in the wild. To put them in cages is every bit as wrong as doing so to a person.

this is amazing! i'm a vegetarian and i am strongly against fur the way it's done in china etc.. but this is how it should be done, in a very ethical and ecologic way!

Want to get an idea of the size of the mink farm industry in Nova Scotia. Google this: 'pollution on the Tusket: Yarmouth' Click on 'images' instead of 'web' One of these farms Hillside Farm has somewhere between 150 - 250,000 animals. Each one confined in a small cage, where it spends it entire short life insane from lack of stimulation. Approx 2 million mink in these farms in Nova Scotia, the highest concentration in the country. 40 new applications for licenses in Annapolis County.

I know that mink farms aren't as bad as dramatized videos show but do not most if not all mink farms involve these animals been kept in small wired cages? Do they not? Because if they do I figure that's cruel in itself and would require a very big justification, for which an extra clothing option is probably too trivial to fill that justification.

If you don't think animals have emotions and other higher brain function, you've never had a dog in your life. Check out the world renowned animal handling designer Temple Grandin talking about how animals think. Search in youtube 'Temple Grandin Animals Make Us Human'. In this clip she talks about the topic of her same named book.
