In order to feed the world's growing population, we need to constantly rethink agriculture. That's where vertical farming comes in. Vertical farming — essentially, multistory greenhouses — uses 90% less land than traditional farming, while harvesting 80% more per unit of area. In this episode of #RippleEffect, we look at AeroFarms, a vertical farm in Newark, NJ. Presented by McDonald's.

Because they aren't animals. The way we treat farmed animals is absolutely horrendous. Yes planes are alive but not in the same way as humans and animals.

This seems great as a practical tool for feeding more people, but it also seems hella depressing, Factory farming is bad enough; why would I want plants grown indoors, too?
