Table or "bunch" grapes are rare in Florida due to lack of winter dormancy and the omnipresent nematodes, but these two Mystery Grapes THRIVE on my henhouse, with "Gray Street Grape" four years old and "Gracie's Grape" three years old. For years I have very much suspected that "Gracie's Grape" is the old complex hybrid bred in and for Florida, 'Blue Lake'. Since "Gray Street Grape" has seeds, if the fruit are pinky red like last year's one token grape, I feel certain it is 'Daytona'. Muscadine/scuppernong grapes thrive in Florida, but many people dislike the seeds and thick skins. I mind neither as they are sources of resveratrol. www.johnstarnesurbanfarm.blogspot.com
