**DEMOLISHED** A gorgeous farm house untouched by vandalism with some older furniture and appliances left behind. Everything else was cleaned out, so I had no clues for dates of abandonment. Thanks for watching!

Great video and a really beautiful house in its day. The doors and woodwork are gorgeous. In that small bathroom, the thing you thought might be a water heater is actually an old steam radiator used to heat the bathroom. I'm guessing they probably had a wood fired boiler in the basement somewhere used to heat the house. It would have worked similar to what we today call forced hot water baseboard heating but instead of baseboards they used radiators.

1:04. Probably a female Praying Mantis. During mating, the female eats the male. This one looks like it's full of eggs, and at the time this video was taken, most males had probably been eaten! Praying Mantises are very cannibalistic.

I'm so sorry to hear this home has been demolished. Love the woodwork and stained glass - what a waste! You've done such a beautiful job of filming and narrating this. Thank you.

My guess when it was originally built there was no kitchen attached, since it was a step down it was a later addition? And when they did have kitchens built into the homes the bathrooms along with the tubs were at the kitchen. My guess is because the water had to be heated and poured into the tubs. When the hot water tanks finally were put into homes they just ran pipes into these kitchens bathrooms. Some would portion off a bedroom elsewhere and add another bathroom. Then the rooms as you came in: on the left the big, long tv room was formerly the library/study. On the right was a room for the ladies and step through to a writing room and/or sewing room. The room with the pipes in the very back at one point could have been for washing and there was a stove for heating the water for the tub before the kitchen & little bathroom was added.

This is similar to the old Baer Lustgarten place in Middle Island that was recently demolished. The big windows, big rooms with high overhead, and all of the side rooms with closets everywhere. It's a time gone by, never to return. Haunting and beautiful!

OMG this must have been an adorable place when it was lively! I loved those tiles in both the bathrooms, they looked brand new!, I especially loved those stained glass colourfull windows, what an eyecatcher😃. Its nuts that this house is just sitting there rotting away, it seems like it could be really cute and cozy, Someone has got to have snatched this one up..
