Hooven & Allison Co. was founded in 1869. This factory in Xenia produced Nylon, Polymer, and Twine ropes. The complex closed in 2003. The following year a massive fire destroyed a large warehouse and sent a plume of smoke towering over the city. However, most of the complex was still standing. I can't tell you huge this place is, I was here for hours but I still didn't get to explore the "Big" warehouse and the bluish building out front.

I worked there from 1984 through 87. I started in the warehouse (shipping and receiving) then over in plastic extruding for a while, then back to shipping. I had no idea it burned down. It was a huge facility. When I worked there it was owned by Art Rosenbaum or Rosenberg

I went there with a friend for the first time yesterday, it was dark and so much more creepy without birds chirping merrily. we didn't get to explore that much though since we were there for only a few hours

I used to live south of there off 42 . Everyday I'd drive by it and think it would be cool to check out. After the fire I just gave up the notion. I'm in Kettering now.
