City ordinances in the United States are in place to try to keep the peace and maintain property values. What country are you from? You should be able to find just about any breed of chicken in the United States. What breed did you like in your home country?

That is a poor example of a Rhode Island Red. It should be a mahogany red and not have the white feathers like the bird in the video. That chicken is probably from a production strain of RIR.

Is the one she's holding a male or female?! I really need to know, mine looks a lot like hers but I'm worried that it's a rooster D:

I love your videos they are really nice and your explainations are very good,I have started having a couple of chickens for there eggs and I love it the chickens are so much fun to watch roaming around in the yard, but there is a problem when the chickens start getting old about old everyone says that they are not useful anymore and that we have to kull them but I think its too bad because the chickens have a short life just because they stop laying, thanks for sharing these great videos.

I didn't know you could cross a chicken with a rock. Maybe that's why they aren't so bright

It's funny, but I've raised seven Rhode Island Red boys, and despite people's claims that RIR roosters are some of the most aggressive birds, they've all been pretty docile and even-tempered. But my one evil boy was a Buff Orpington, supposedly one of the gentlest breeds. He'd relentlessly bully and attack every other chicken he could. Then he somehow hung himself up on a fence and died, and the flock once again knew peace. I wonder if chickens can be born psychotic. He sure fit the part.

I've been raising chickens for over three years, and it looks like I've just hatched my first Buff Orpington x Rhode Island Red chick (the Buff was the Dad). Do you know if this crossbreed has its own name like certain crossbreeds do?
