In Part 4, the body count mentality to drive the other side bankrupt of men and monies, U.S. forces are under pressure to produce a body count. This forces men to invent body counts. If you call in a strike and find some enemy bodies you could count them several times. If you don't give body count credit, they might not help you the next time you ask. Body parts could be guesstimated into higher body counts. Vietnames civilians could be added to the body count. When battles were against the Viet Cong (VC) the appearance between the villagers and the enemy were hard to tell. Villagers could become combatants by throwing grenades etc. Men without farm callouses might be VC. Charlie might have calloused eyes etc. We didn't speak their language, know their culture so we hauled away people to be tortured and destroyed many villagers and innocent civilians got killed.
