I feel like the music is what Steampunk would be if it were meant to be in the Tudor Era Instead of the Victorian.

The destruction of the monasteries meant the destruction of the social welfare system? Yet, it was all about power. If they had freely allowed people to access the waterways and have cows graze on common land, instead of reinforcing the social structure of tenant farmers and their servants, thus creating class divisions, they may not have appeared to pose such a threat to Henry VIII. If their Jesus were there, I'm sure he would say everyone should have the right to eat fish whenever they damn well wanted. Ultimately, they were just as power-hungry as any corrupt son-of-a-bitch!

Imagine the riches it took to build a cathedral. I can think of plenty of better uses for that money.

So I watched this series a few months back and lately I've been having a lot of nightmares. There are always really creepy sounds or songs involved some way or another and I just realized that it's the music from this series literally repeating themselves in my nightmares. That isn't a joke.

What happened to the tennant farmers when Henry the 8th closed all the monestaries? They were tennants to the monestaries, so were kicked off their land?

Simplicity is key. no matter the times. I'm always fascinated with these times and how intuitive some inventions were. How basic yet sp effective cooking methods were etc...

What a great educational series!

Ruth was talking about bullace. Is bullace available in the 21st century? I'm from the United States, and I've never heard of it. I did a search but didn't find much information about it. Is this fruit available in the US?

I only watch all 6 of these videos once a week for the past 3 months. I do so enjoy them. I have no problem with the soundtrack since it's the vocal text I listen to. Thank you Master.
