Farms: Tiny Farms - San Francisco Food Hackathon

Tiny Farms (www.tiny-farms.com), the edible bug company, participated in the first-ever Food Hackathon in San Francisco 4/6 - 4/7/13. Our project was to create a machine to separate meal worms from the wheat bran in which they live - because harvesting them by hand is a painstaking process! This video shows a few of our prototypes where we used air to separate the lighter bran by blowing it away with an air mattress pump. We sometimes used rice to imitate larger worms. Lots of fun!
