Charlotte NC (704) 816-0526 Greenville SC (864) 381-7663 Thinking about adding a bridge or island to your farm pond? For more info visit http://www.platinumlakemanagement.com Hey it's Richard here with Platinum Ponds & Lake Management. I wanted to show you here today a bridge that we built almost 17 years ago with some treated lumber. It goes ground on a 5 acre pond actually has a floating island. Unique design a lot of thought taken care of to get to this point. Basically we are on a small peninsula that jets out. Then we go up onto the actual bridge area. We are able to basically use the bridge function to not only get to the island but a way to fish. You can actually fish off this pier. Habitats are on the sides of the area. Habitat for some ducks as well as access to the island. So we have structure in several different areas here. Also some structures underneath the surface. So you can fish with the kids, the older kids obviously on this little bit of a bridge so you don't slip and fall in. More beaver signs coming up here. Always keeping our eye out for beavers. It is one of those things that we do. With our monthly membership so you are not losing valuable trees in and around your pond. The trees take decades to grow. So basically we are now on the island that leads to a warf area, which actually jets back out and you are able to fish in another way. I wanted to show you this as well. This was built while the pond was empty. Obviously it is a little more difficult to do if your pond is full. Therefore that is why we would recommend our floating docks. You can find them on our website at platinumlakes.com. We have a couple of different areas to hang fish feeders to come off the sides but as you can see here the water level is terrific, water quality is terrific. We have lots of habitat areas for spawning, islands, and peninsulas. We even have a car that’s in this 5 acre pond. I wanted to show that to you. I would say that the ideal size for a dock would probably be around 15 by 15. Anything bigger than that like we have here 25 by 12 is a little bit too big. It looks pretty but functionally you don't need quit this much. I would rather see you have it in a couple of different areas. Also include a boat and some habitat structures that you could fish by a boat rather than investing in a lot of lumber. As always find us on the web at platinumlakes.com. Serving the Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, and Charlotte NC markets.
