Almost a third of Filipinos work on farms, but most of them earn very little. Many leave the countryside and end up in urban slums. Rural development programs seek to slow or reverse that trend. Cherrie Atilano runs a farm for former slum-dwellers. At 'Enchanted Farm', each family has a house with running water and electricity. The adults learn new skills, and the children go to school. Why is almost very documentary about the Phps. about the poverty, never about the have's show live in splendor, in nice neighborhoods, drive find cars, eat in fancy restuarant. I will tell you why. They do not want you thinking about them, only about the Phps being a poor country...just like Mexico or India...there are plenty of well off people that are invisible by calculation...
