Hi, this is a very engaging, but also disturbing video. I usually love watching old abandoned places, but this isn't pleasant. More scary. I wouldn't spend any time there without wearing a surgical mask either.

The land is being looked into for redevelopment. Its not uncommon for companies to buy up land for pennies and in the case with property make land trades with the town , so that the company can own enough of an area for development purposes. Ive included a link to one of the town meetings where theses propertie are mentioned by lots and block numbers.

There were 38 homes there in its peak . I did a bit of research and what I found is even more strange than the town disappearing. All those vacant lots are owned by the same company. A very prominent, old money family from Titnon Falls. Somehow they paid pennies for these properties. Some literally were only $1!!! Some were even deed transferred directly without the company paying one penny! The only thing I found in regards to prominent news from that neighborhood was the murder of a wealthy doctor committed by the stepson of a soldier stationed nearby. Most of the homes were owned by soldiers stationed locally and with the end of the Vietnam era, the homes one by one became vacant. I did find one interesting blurb but when I went to read the attached article it had been deleted along with all the references associated with it.

Google Maps show that Stavola has a quarry next door to feed it's asphalt plant. They probably bought out the neighborhood or the state bought them out by eminent domain for the Rt 18 extension. Nice tour anyway.

Great video! Would love to know more!

Most likely had ground or water contamination if there's a dump nearby.

Mars attacked; leveled that whole neighborhood with a radioactive ray. Jack Nicholson was part of the raiding force, but he was actually from Neptune. Should have taken a Geiger Counter with you on this trip.

You must find out what happened and let us know.

Interesting..

You know where you are.Look at old maps.

Might have been some kind of poisoning in the ground or something.

the same thing happened in Bamber Lake (n.j.) on Smith and Longview RD in the late 1970's the state or federal Govt bought up all the houses and moved the people out, for a while they had the roads blocked with dirt and police car parked there all the time then one day the road was open and the houses gone without a trace .
never figured out why . they where really expensive home too.
