http://www.citizencommissioner.com Are you concerned about 30 years of zero growth in Cowlitz County, Washington? Kevin Hunter shares his vision for the county, and pledges a return of the commissioners salary to businesses in cowlitz county to restore hope and confidence here. Our existing politicians would have us believe that things are going great, but are they? Longview and Kelso, sitting right in the heart of the county, are featured on the top 10 list of worst cities to live in in Washington. High unemployment, homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, and sky rocketing crime rates plague the entire county, yet commissioner Dennis Weber would have us believe that the best is yet ahead. How can we believe him? His first elected office was in Longview in 1984, and his career in politics spans the 30 years of zero growth we've experienced in the county. Twenty years ago he championed the Longview Mint Farm, and promised citizens that it would deliver 7,000 jobs. Millions of dollars spent and years later, and the Mint Farm only has 90 jobs, just 6,910 jobs short of his promise. If you want Cowlitz County to have a chance, this politician needs to go. Join Kevin Hunter in restoring hope and confidence in Cowlitz County, and embark on a new and brighter future together.

Ballots are mailed later this week. I hope everyone remembers to fill out their ballot and vote and make a difference in Cowlitz County Washington! We need good citizens to get involved and help spread the word that Kevin Hunter is going to fix this county's budget and systems that can't prove if they're working or not. Kevin is very interested in your comments and meeting with concerned voters. Post a comment here or on FB to get involved in the only campaign that has pledged the entire commissioner's salary back to local business. Kevin will donate his social media and online marketing and video services to replace the salary and help build up local business.

I really like the fresh approach that you are bringing to the citizens of Cowlitz County. Great message and best of luck in the election!!!

You'd have my vote if I lived in the area!

Wish you lived in my State (Utah). Glad to see you stepping up to the plate. We need more citizens like you if we are ever going to change things in this country. I should have known that you would be a stand up guy after dealing with you concerning the Window Etch Scam. Especially since no other so called consumer help entity or media group was willing to take on the auto dealers in this country (probably because they are afraid of losing advertising dollars). The people of Cowlitz County better jump on the chance to elect you. If I was living there I would. One thing they are guaranteed is someone that won't be bullied or bought by the good old boy establishment. Good luck and God bless.

Kick Mr. Weber out on the curb in that industrial park that he built. Amazing how these politikers can campaign on doing things and nothing materializes from their pet projects. All their projects do is cost money and we get nothing in return....

As a resident of cowlitz county I am personally fed up with Denis Weber as Cowlitz County Commissioner. He is responsible for so many failures in our County and has become the status quo. He no longer works for us, and is a leading cause of why our county is doing so poorly. How can we re-elect that man when Cowlitz County continually performs so poorly in almost all metrics the state measures. We are one of the worst counties to live in. We need a new face like Kevin Hunters' to hopefully bring about real and lasting change. We need jobs & industry. We need to reduce crime and the rampant drug abuse. Weber will never do it. Weber needs to go.

Sexy.

Kevin, Congrats to you for taking a stand in your community! People are sick of politics as usual and it's time for change. Make Cowlitz Great Again!

I'm all for term limits! A lot of good points presented, but I have to admit, it got a too long for my somewhat limited attention span...

The other day I saw a ludicrous headline about some actor hosting a fundraising dinner for Hillary, charging about $350k per attending couple... do the math and consider that, at best, her campaign will use it to create political ads that no one wants to hear or see. Nothing changed, nothing gained. One fundraiser for one campaign. It's mind-blowing that we have a hunger problem and a jobless problem anywhere, when people can drop that much cash just for dinner. Speaking of having a clue...
So now, can you imagine what might be done if ANYONE running for office had a clue about changing things at a grassroots level? Real people, real concerns, real problems solved. If citizens start expecting competence at the city and county levels, maybe our kids have a chance at holding national level politicians to some sort of standard.
Knock it out of the park. Can't wait to see those numbers change! -
if I was in your area you'd have my vote. you should chop this up in to segments.
-
Kevin--This is great. Thank you for agreeing to run for this office! Perhaps you can make a necessary change. The government keeps getting larger; however, the population goes down!!! Why? Obviously--no jobs.
$7K month??? WOW!
You need to keep some of that for necessary expenses. Thanks
Hopefully, the folks here locally will elect you!
