The fighting bull is a species that notoriously represents Spanish identity. However, it is commonly forgotten that before bulls become the central character of this national 'fiesta', this animal has grown up in and been part of a rich natural environment. We examines the ecological complexity surrounding the life and development of a bull, in all stages, to know the role playing by him within the countryside in which he grows up, from gestation and birth until reaching four years of life in freedom and is taken to the bullring.

So you breed such an Awesome Bull just to watch it suffer to death? then have the audacity to call the torture of a Beautiful animal "Sport?" BullShit. Then, there are those who wrap themselves in the self soothing blanket of tradition to block out the fact that they get their rocks off at watching a Bull being tortured to death, and the Bull isn't even given a FAIR chance to win his Life. If the World just stuck to traditions in stead of thinking about the repercussions of our actions America would still own slaves, rooster fights would be legal, dog fights would be legal, horse fights=legal, bear baiting=legal, basically any sort of animal cruelty towards animals and/or humans would be perfectly acceptable. I understand the importance behind traditions, and the need for them, but this is not a tradition any human being should be proud to take part in. This is utterly stupid and disgraceful. It was also really messed up to hear the ending: to hear he was humiliated, he was not the star of a great fight, and he suffered from Mad Cow Disease so he couldn't even be eaten.

The bulls in this video look A LOT bigger than the ones I've seen in videos of them running in the streets and in bullfights.

Americans have to put emotions and a love story to everything, and than all the hypocrites start commenting on how someone should be ashamed of certain traditions in their culture.
Let me ask you this....
Who almost drove the American bison out extinction?
Who drove the Tiger populations into almost extinction?
who drove the Lion population also almost to extinction?
Who is responsible for driving almost all exotic animals out of existence?
I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the Spanish.
America is the world's top leader in butchering bulls and cows, every day, as we speak, there are thousands of bulls and cows being butchered, so you can have a nice juicy steak at Longhorn.
fucking hypocrites! -

watching this video is like drinking sweet poisonous wine, knowing no matter how beautiful, colorful and heartfelt the tale gets, it would come to a tragic and wasteful end.
I'm never a religious person, but it really summons this sentence from what I know of Bible(and I'm paraphrasing):
By their fruit, you shall know them. -

Not surprisingly they did not reveal how bulls, selected to fight, get treated in preparation of a fight in the arena. Years ago Dr. Bernhard Grzimek, director of the Frankfurt Zoo and author of the book "Serengeti Shall Not Die", showed a clandestine film depicting the treatment of such bulls. If more people would be aware of that, perhaps bullfighting would finally be eliminated. For one, Bulls receive little or no food for the week prior to a fight, water too is curtailed or not available at all. They routinely spend days in stalls without daylight and restricted so they can't lie down to rest. The first daylight they get to see is when they're released into an often sunlit arena, confused and unable to recognize details. Then they get attacked by the various players who lance them and stab them, all for the purpose of blood loss and to weaken them. By the time the Matador gets to him, there is already not much life left in a bull, yet those goddamm Spaniards call these Matadors "heroes". What a joke. Every Matador who gets mutilated deserves it.
