Thinking about donating my body.
-
I would love to spend a day in this place. It's just fascinating to me. My brother has been a mortician and embalmer for thirty years and I still can't get enough of the stories he has to tell.
-
Do all forensic anthropologists write books with "Bone" in the title?
-
down syndrome!!!
-
after the first few months not really bad. the early weeks are the smelly part
-
Well, I hope you will never need the knowledge acquired from this place, but for people who has someone murdered in his/her family, knowing enough about decomposition can mark the difference between finding the perpetrator or not. Also, the bodies are there because the deceased people gave permission to use their remains for the good of science, so their will is respected completely.
-
so is this place hauted?
-
All bodies used at "The Body Farm" are donated to the research subject; it was a conscious decision on the part of the subjects. By doing this he is respecting their hearts, minds and souls by honoring their wishes.
-
Extremely gross but interesting and necessary to advance the field of forensic anthropology; If you are watching this and considering donation of your body after death to this research subject I thank you, as a criminal justice major with a focus in forensics this research is a God send.
-
well i know were im gonna put my murder victim
-
I live only a few miles from it, would kinda be interested in seeing it...but don't know if I could handle it.
-
i think you'd smell it before you stumble upon anything...
-
this is why I will be cremated
-
It's weird, but the science is needed
-
Could you imagine accidentally stumbling upon this place at night.
-
Deaths Acre is a fantastic book! I want to meet Bill Bass so very bad.
-
This is so fascinating. I'm young and I hope I don't die for a long, long time, but I would love to will my body to something like this. I'm no anthropologist, but this stuff is so amazing. The research they do... it's all so interesting and useful!
-
This is very unusual

@piledriver89 there's a great book that's serious/funny called 'Stiff' by Mary Roach. she spent a year following ppl who chose to donate their bodies to science. she does a piece on this body farm. it IS totally fascinating! and the book has some really funny/light humored parts too ;)
