The original 1983 theatrical version was produced by Alexander & Ilya Salkind, written by David & Leslie Newman, directed by Richard Lester, & starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Annette O' Tool, Jackie Cooper, Mark Mclure, Robert Vaughn, & Richard Pryor, with music by Ken Thorne. The only Superman movie not produced by the Salkinds was the 1987 release of "Superman IV The Quest For Peace" put out by Golden Globus (Canon films) with the score composed by Alexander Courage based on John Williams original theme. I wanted 2 add more of a romantic/emotional angle by making a scene with him remembering & thinking about Lana adding 2 the anticipation 2 the dance, as well as a bit of a romantic que when they see each other again. & as an omage 2 my other favorite films, Back 2 the Future, changed The Beatles song 2 Johnny B Good. The interest to recut all four original Chris Reeve Superman films all first started with the 2006 release of the Superman II The Richard Donner Cut, Superman Returns starring Brandon Routh, the Smallville TV series starring Tom Welling, & Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder & starring Henry Cavill, Russel Crowe, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, & Laurence Fishburne. With Superman being back in the movie spotlight these past few years, a Superman fan like myslf can't help but be inspired & be caught up in all the hype & create some Superman fan work of my own.
