he said they like to herd, they like to be with their friends-yea right but OUT IN THE FIELDS MUNCHING GRASS that's what is natural for them, and if it's natural then that has to be best animal welfare and husbandry & quality of life.. these so-called farmers should go find another way of life and way of making a living and leave dairy farming to REAL farmers. try going to work in a factory 24/7 and never going outside and see how you like it..

the anarobic digester is a good idea as the gas can be sold to the grid or to power tractors and wagons thats 1 way another is to put solar panels on the roof of the dairy to power it and sell excess this would make money as the avrage dairy is at least 30m x 10m min on the smallest dairy farm and also why not have a different animal on the farm pig sheep chickens 2 incomes are better then 1 or why not look at what you have and see where going wrong they are ways to make money if u do it right

You have to ask why are 3 dairy farms going out of business every week? And with regards to keeping 'Non Grazing' herds!!! Well that's just plain disgusting.

Human stupidity and greed will always screw over the world. Stupidity is the British public helping to destroy their own diary industry; by constantly going for the cheap, even though they could afford paying more. Greed because these super markets aren't willing to pay the products actual worth; and would probably pocket the difference if consumers were willing to pay more. At this rate we will lose our dairy industry, then what? Import American milk? It was banned in the UK for a reason.
