St. Mark's Episcopal Church kicked off summer 2014 food hub season. MarketMaker farmers from Orange county, New York deliver fresh produce to St. Mark's Church and then these produce are distributed to the church's food pantry participants.. Over 1000 low income families in Brooklyn receive fresh vegetables come direct from New York Farms on a weekly basis. CUCE-NYC staff provide food and nutrition education on how to make healthy recipes with the new vegetables and how to incorporate more fresh produce within your meal. Some of the vegetables included kale, carrots, cucumbers, potatoes, beets and onions.
