A trip to Hopewell Junction in Hudson Valley, New York where we meet other shareholders of the Hudson Valley Fiber Farm for a Sheep Shearing party. For sheep, being relieved of heavy fleece before summer is definitely a pleasure. Holding the sheep in position to be sheered though it is awkward does not hurt the sheep.

Do sheep enjoy being sheared? Also, must you shear at a certain time of the year (like summer or late spring) to prevent them from freezing?
