Farms: Rogue Farms 7 Hop IPA Keith's Beer Reviews # 671
Productivity | Information | History | View | Quality
Rogue Farms 7 Hop IPA This is John Maier's secret recipe that blends all seven hops grown in the hopyard of Rogue Farms. It is a true taste of the terroir of the Wigrich Appellation, the oldest hops growing region in Oregon. Beer begins in the dirt. In a bold collaboration with Mother Nature, we grow 7 varieties of aroma hops at Rogue Farms in Independence, OR. We also string, stake, train, test, trim, separate, sort, kiln and cool them. Brewmaster John Maier had 7 varieties available, but rather than picking from among them, he chose all 7 to create a proprietary palate for 7 Hop IPA. 13 Ingredients: Rogue Farms Dare, Risk, Maier & Dare R-3 Malts; Rogue Farms Liberty™, Newport™, Revolution™, Rebel™, Independent™, Freedom™ & Alluvial™ Hops; Pacman Yeast & Free Range Coastal Water. 8.02% ABV

This is only the third Rogue i've tried. I really enjoyed how balanced it was for 8%. Great review! Cheers!

I agree that Rogue beers are overpriced for what u get. This beer I saw at hyvee for 7.29 which I found relatively reasonable compared to the price of some of their other brews.

I haven't seen this beer where I live or maybe i just didn't notice it but IPA's are starting to become my preferred style of beer. One that I have recently tried is Lil Helpers IPA from Mothers brewing company. Maybe give that one a shot? A good beer in my opinion but i'm no expert as I just starting to get into more craft style beers.

I've seen this a number of times at the store and I keep debating if I should pick it up. Like you, I'm not a huge fan of Rogue. I think I'll give it a shot later this week. Cheers Keith!
