The dark clouds have once again found themselves looming over fraud-hit Suntech as it faces a new lawsuit adding to its long list of woes. The new charges allege that its Italian subsidiary GSF illegally built solar farms in Italy in order to exploit the country's subsidies. Meanwhile, Suntech has been dropped from the number one spot in NPD Solarbuzz's top 10 PV shipment rankings for 2012, having been replaced by Yingli. But it's not all doom and gloom for Suntech after preliminary results showed that its sales rose by 15% in Q2 2012 however its full-year shipments were revised downwards. Similarly, JA Solar revealed higher revenues but market uncertainty has led the firm to lower its full-year shipment guidance. This week's Newscast also reveals that TSMC Solar has successfully manufactured 14.2% efficient CIGS modules using its R&D and pilot production line at its Taiwanese plant while latest statistics show that there were more than 12,000 PV installations in Germany in July adding 543MW in additional PV capacity.
