Portrait of Demmitt Dairy (Organic Dairy Farm) by Katie Liutkus. University of Dayton students in the fall 2012 course SEE 303, Constructions of Place: Mapping the Foodshed, investigated food systems in Ohio's Miami valley. Students heard from experts and practitioners from across the food spectrum - academics and small local producers - and created video portraits to share what they learned. The class is a pilot for the Common Academic Program Crossing Boundaries theme. The new general education program explores critical topics from different disciplinary perspectives.
