Snead's Asapargus Farm on the outskirts of Fredericksburg is a well-established community staple, providing fresh fruits and vegetables through a family-run CSA and roadside stand. For many families the farm is also a holiday tradition, where they pick their own pumpkins and Christmas trees each fall. Emmett Snead, his wife, and their daughters protected the 294-acre property with a VOF easement in 2011. This vignette is the fourth in our "Portrait of a Steward" series.
