I was stationed at Ft bragg N.C. and experienced my first pig pickin there. afterward in S.C. a few more. I have come to appreciate them and all the unique Southern Hospitality that can be found nowhere else but the south.

I'm from Cofield and moved away about 15 years ago and would give anything to be able to enjoy more days like this! I would love to know how to make the sauce and slaw they used to make back home. Great video to bring back the good times of old! And be blend them in with the good time of today!!

I'm from Ahoskie, NC but I've been living in Texas for the past eleven years. I miss these type of all day get togethers. It makes me more home sick than I already am. This is a wonderful and well edited video. Thank you for posting it.

@555thawk Oak wood from the farm. We had a fire just between the pit and the field where we stoked a fire for coals. I had bought bags of the Stubb's brand charcoal as a backup, but we never really used it.
