In fall 2012 in Nebraska after winds knocked down the corn ears, we used a bean pick up head to harvest otherwise not harvestable corn

What did you use to rake it with? Not a hay rake, from the looks of it, but maybe I'm wrong.

How much of the total yield think you could pick up using this head ?

It worked well at the time. Corn was $7.00 per bushel, so it was worth the time to pick up from the field. However, this was hard on the combine. Too much dirt! Plus, we had to screen the corn four times to separate the corn from the dirt. Still had 5% FM. We picked up anywhere from 20 to 40 bushels on various fields.

How well did this work for you guys? I've never had to do this myself but I've heard of others doing it before. The worst that I had was the cobs were to low to the ground and the head couldn't grab them, so I used my bean platform on them.
