Farms: Peter Young talks about mink farms in Utah.

Video file date is: September 30th, 2008 Peter Young has put up $2,500 to help defend anyone who gets arrested in connection with the mink farm release on Sept. 21. (2008) He says, "What happens on these farms is so bad that it does justify working outside the law because, unfortunately, there are no laws to protect these animals." He says he came to Utah to show his support and to lend a hand to any animal-rights activist he says is being harassed. He says, "I've heard reports of the FBI being caught going through people's trash at 4 o'clock in the morning, people being visited." Young says he's aware he always has a target on his back because he was caught releasing animals before. But he says he had nothing to do with the mink release here in Utah. Inuyasha you are obviously a mink farmer. No normal person would defend this horrid business

Is it right for human to destroy and kill mink for profit and vanity? He is a hero to me and to many. He had scarify his freedom to save animals and free animals from suffering and torture. What kind act have you done late?

If anyone wants to do a little education in the direction of the mink farm industry - youtube search "A mink farm by NAFA"... and comment there... It's a model mink farm video at the agricultural college in Nova Scotia - which is the highest concentration of mink farms in Canada. Somewhere between 1.5 to 2 million mink in about 124 farms are going mad there in cages right now.

you talk about 'stripping the fence' like it is very normal to destroy other people's property. you are not a hero, you are a criminal. and criminals belong in jail.

fyi that farm is owend by my familey and same wtih the one right down the street by the baseball frield!

Ummmm....mink are a predator. What happens to all the other animals that are already living in the local ecosystem? I will tell you since I lived near one of the farms you hit. The mink basically wiped the other animals out. I understand your upset with the fur trade, but you must understand how you are impacting everything else.

once mink are relesed from captivity, the chance of them surviving in the wild is so small, it would be better for them to live in cages. they dont know how to survive in the wild so they die of starvation or becoming prey to larger animals. to set them free is a far worse death sentance.

@Inuyasha6594 Is this a joke? They are in cages so small that they go insane and self destruct by biting their own skin. Minks in the wild have a huge range and are constantly moving. These minks are deprived of anything that is interesting or stimulating to them which would include foraging and hunting, mating, running, playing, enjoying the sun on their backs. To act like you are doing them a favor is sick!

mink are not treated cruely, they are out of the sun inside the sheds so they dont get too hot. yes, i understand that they get killed but the fact is, fur farmers try to give them the best life posseble before they are killed. when it gets too hot, the farmers go around with a hose and puts water in cups for the mink so they can cool off. its been proven that mink live longer in captivity thean in the wild. if you really care about the mink, thean leave them alone.

Logical, compelling, incisive. These are three reasons why Federal and Utah legislators should listen to Peter Young.
In defense of the animal "rights" activists it isn't only then who destroy natural order. Over hunting one species is also a major culprit to the destruction of natural order. That being said hunting is VERY important in keeping nature balanced. They do countless and very extensive studies on each area for hunting licenses each year.
Now back to the topic on hand, if you, or someone you know, is against the farming of animals you have three choices. Option one: do something illegal and hope you can fight your way out with no consequence. Two: attempt to stop it through legal channels in hopes you find police, lawyer, and judge who sympathize with you and your agenda. Then there's option number three: get the hell over yourself and let people live their lives the way they will, so long as that person is not doing something illegal and/or something that negatively effects the lives or living conditions of other human beings.
Good day sir.
