Fundraiser for Peconic Community School at Golden Earthworm Organic Farm on August 12, 2012 SHARE, A field-to-plate dinner at Golden Earthworm Organic Farm in Jamesport on August 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. will feature local chefs, food and wine from North and South Fork farms and vineyards, live music, farm tour and live auction. The event will benefit the North Fork Education Initiative, a new nonprofit, which is founding a K-8 school to be based at East End Arts Council in Riverhead. The school, Peconic Community School, will focus on the arts, environment and community. The event will include food prepared by local chefs at tables set amid the picturesque backdrop of Golden Earthworm Organic Farm. Featured chefs include Gregory Ling from the Riverhead Project, Michael Meehan of H20 in Smithtown and Noah Schwartz of Noah's in Greenport. Dinner will be paired with wine by Shinn Estate Vineyards and beer by Blind Bat Brewery. Other local businesses donating and participating are Joe & Liza's Ice Cream, Catapano Dairy Farm, Briermere Farms, Vines & Branches, A Taste of the North Fork and Fork & Anchor. In addition to a special chance to tour Golden Earthworm Organic Farm with the owners and growers, the live auction offers opportunities to bid on a range of unique experiences including an architectural design consultation and personalized yoga classes.
