You will discover the crops that are easy to grow in this climate, yet may be rare to find at markets and in gardens near you. You will learn how to build the soil organically without the use of chemical fertilizers and how to have the largest and best tasting fruit. You will also learn how to start goji berry plants from a easy-to-find seed source as well as learn about dry farm tomatoes. You will discover the importance of a standard compost pile, as well as composting wood-chips to create a humus based fungal dominated compost that will also feed your plants. Finally, John sits down with Barry to share with you how this 72 year old farmer has the energy to keep his farm going, his house organized, selling produce at the farmers market and his create his beautiful art.
