While in Chicago, we stopped at Uncommon Ground, a restaurant in the Edgewater neighborhood that focuses on seasonal, regional and organic food and boasts the first certified organic rooftop farm in the nation! As we toured the roof, we learned about the benefits of super local produce, the challenges of farming so far off the ground and got to sample some honey from the restaurant's rooftop bee colony! noble idea but I do not see enough green to support the restaurant needs and what about the winter months and early spring?

Excellent presentation of a fantastic concept. There's hope for America yet! Every big city should have 100s of these gardens.
