A Short Movie Highlighting the 12th NOAC( National Organic Agriculture Congress) and 10th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival last Nov 25-29, 2015. Organic Farmers from around the Philippines gather at the country's Organic Capital, Negros Island for the biggest convergence of the Organic Movement. The1st Negros Island Slow Food Summit was also held during the week long celebration. More than 3,000 delegates coming from every region in the country took part in the event which only shows that Organic Agriculture has been the fastest growing multi-commodity agricultural sector, not just in the country but in the world. The Philippines now ranks 4th in Asia and 1st in the ASEAN in terms of land devoted to Organic Agriculture according to a recent survey by the IFOAM. This shows the great partnership between the Government and private sector in pushing for Organic. We are winning the Organic Revolution" were the words of IFOAM President Andre Leu. "We are loosing thousands of farmers every year because children of farmers don't want to farm anymore because there is no future, but we are doing it the other way around in the organic industry, more farmers join the organic sector and most of them are our youth" he said. The event was brought to you by Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, the Department of Agriculture together with ONOPRA, National Organic Agriculture Program, DARFU6, Negros Oriental, Negros Island Region in cooperation with DTI, DAR, NCIP, IFOAM, City Government of Bacolod, NISARD and Slow Food Negros Island.
