Not as well known, but this is the Oddfellows Orphanage Home in Greenville, SC. Built in 1908, burned and rebuilt in 1910. Was part of a work farm at one time. The state closed it down in the 1930s due to rampant child abuse and even reports of children dying. Now private property, so please do not trespass. A former owner reported hearing children crying in the upper and lower hallways. I have been through every inch of this house when it was for sale, and the celler is one of the creepiest Ive been in, and these even a large unfinished attic I explored. House is over 5,000 sq. feet and built of solid brick. Got a lot of strange feelings and dread in my visits in this house in the past.

If you're going to make a video about something historic, please get the facts straight. This was not even the orphanage. The only spirits you may have encountered are the ones you are inviting to come. Ephesians 6:12 talks about this.

My grand mother and grand father lived in this house and it is NOT Haunted. My Mother grew up there. The orphanage was on the hill behind it and this house that you see here is not Haunted. A lot of Love kindness and laughter only. You are incorrect on this one. And if my grand parents were living the could tell you all about that.

Just drove by this house today...never knew it was there. The windows all have what appears to be bars over the windows. I see no work being done to the house and it is vacant. Interesting history, thanks for sharing.

Don't know why my posts keep disappearing, but I'll try again.
I and my wife were the most recent live-in owners. She was a breeder of over 60 champion Samoyeds and well known in the dog breeding world as well as a published author. We never had more than 6 dogs at one time, however. She passed away in 2003 and I just quit caring about anything, including the house and just let it eventually go. It does have a sordid history of which I have much info, We were going to write a book, but again, I just stopped caring about anything after she died.
As to supernatural events, we never saw ghosts or any such, but a couple of odd things did occur. In one event, my wife heard me come in through the back door and the dogs went into their usual welcome home actions but they ended abruptly. Then she saw me turning into the driveway. In another case, I got up to go to the bathroom and when I was coming back, I heard her admonishing one of the dogs to get off the bed because I was coming back. When I got back in bed I commented about it. She said she never said anything and none of the dogs had been on the bed. I pressed her on the issue and she stood steadfast that nothing had happened. Oh, and in the previous instance she had also heard me talking to the dogs. So who knows what it was. I named the phenomenum "mockelgangers" since they imitated us. Anyone wanting to restore it better have deep pockets. Seems to be condemned now though. -
@bnbelbhlpwf I posted the comment regarding my mother having lived there back in the 1930's. I'm planning a trip to Greenville in a couple of months and I was wondering if I might be able to look at the old place and take some photos. I don't even know exactly where its located. My contact e-mail is: 562044@gmail.com. Thanks, jgert45

My mother lived in this house from about 1930 to 1941 with her parents and 10 siblings which makes me doubt some of the things that have been said here. Does anyone know if it is still standing?
