There is obviously a problem. The water acidity levels are probably off the charts! The #ecosystem should always take first priority over humanitie's selfish, unfounded, immediate gratification. The best form and only in my consideration for #smallfarms and not industry is in the natural, proper form, not man-handled.There are god-given careers out there that require further education and resource, that will never aid in the evolution of the future, but only tend to harbour it in condensed filth.

Please, what are your sources so that I can use this as a referance.

This should be about American interest groups in Canada. It is a good thing " Vivian Krause' is in to research. Look for her interviews on Youtube. American foundations have payed over $90 million to promote so called wild Alaskan over farmed. Millions of that money went to so-called grassroots protests in western Canada. Why didn't these foundations put any money to enviromental action in the Gulf of Mexico, on the eastren seaboard or the Alaskan coast?

@vanisleLP Only a honorary degree. Also the Pacific Salmon Forum PSF - a non-biased scientific body ordered to look into the issue found that the studies she was citing (her own), were incorrect. Co-author Marty Krkosek agreed. Morton and Krkosek were asked to “recalibrate”. She concluded that “the survival of the pink salmon cohort was not statistically different from a reference region without salmon farms.” That’s right – no extinction. Not even a difference.
-
@vanisleLP "Closed Containment" Salmon Farming is only a Political Idea. "In 2007 the Canadian Science Advisory Secretariat (CSAS) engaged a multi-sector panel in an international review of closed containment technology. In a review of more than 40 closed containment systems from around the world, CSAS reported that none was successful in producing adult salmon at a commercial level." Realy nothing to be sour about is there:) Or maybe for you there is.
-
@vanisleLP If Alex Morton new her science, she would not have to use circus act mud throwing campaign's to get attention.
-
@vanisleLP Why dont you? Add a few other nations in on that. Then tell me what stinks so much.
-
@vanisleLP Then why does Morton not say anything about Alaska farming over 1.5 billion salmon each year to enhance their wild farmed catch? " Those fish are competing with wild salmon for food".
-
Don't eat or buy Alaska wild salmon. Up to 41% of the salmon that Alaska exports has been raised in plastic trays, fed pellets, held in open net pens for up to 12 months, then released into the wild. Alaska farms up to 1.5 billion salmon each year to sustain their fake wild salmon fishery.

@hswoc Get with the year 2010 or go back to prep school. The reports I have read show farmed salmon have less toxins than wild salmon. It only makes sense that we can control what is in feed and lower the toxins fed out. Tell us what a wild salmon eats Sim. What are the toxins they pick up. What is their pray . I do not need a biology book to figure this out. Yeah... you have to read.
-
The only thing that Morton has said that is true!!!!!!!... "I dont have a great set of credentials."
-
There has never been a famine in a free market capitalist country in the 20th century those countries that have experianced starvation that killed million where run by totaliterian dictators and communist.
-
And what the hell is a toxin, if you can't tell me what a toxin is. Then theres no such thing as a toxins. It's just a word people use that means nothing but is meant to scare people into believing what their saying.
-
10,000 year ago people ate nothing but wild food, and you where lucky to live pass the age of 25 Now in the year 2010 the average lifespan in this toxin infested country is 81. From this I can say that toxins are good
-
If Canda funded Morton more than the American foundations do I am sure she would target Alaska for dumping millions of plastic tray, open net pen, pellet fed raised salmon into the pacific each year that our BC wild salmon have to compete for a food source with. Its all about where the money comes from, isnt it Morton?
-
Go make love to the trees you worthless hippie.
-
Nothing stopping form returning to the wild so you aren't you doing it?
-
What about all the 12,000 jobs that the fish farming industry has created. These brainless hippies just want to destroy the lives of those workers.
-
Go hump a tree you brainless hippis. This is why the economy is in the craper. Because dump tree humpers think that fish are more important then people.
-
The 20 million $ given to NGO's from the Moore foundation is still flowing the propaganda to push public opinion from farmed to so called "wild" pellet fed ranched Salmon. Save the wild. Hunt and eat them all...
