Transcript: Southeast San Diegans can now buy farm fresh fruits and vegetables right here in their own neighborhood. Even though there are not usually farmers markets in low-income neighborhoods, this farmers market is trying to change that. The People's Produce Farmers Market is located at 606 Eucild Avenue and is open from 3-7 every Friday, unless it rains! *** Produced in partnership with MEDIA ARTS CENTER SAN DIEGO and the SAN DIEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY, the Mobile Stories program teaches technology and citizen journalism. Offered to youth (ages 9-18) at select Branch Library locations at no cost, the classes uses the popularity of mobile phone technology to connect local youth with the extensive resources available at their local library in a format that is both current and easily accessible. The San Diego Public Library and Media Arts recognize the ubiquity of cell phone technology; the need for under-represented youth to express their voices regarding news and events in their neighborhoods; and Mobile Stories potential to connect youth and their interests and needs with the information and resources of the library. Visit SupportMyLibrary.org to learn now you can help keep programs like this running throughout the San Diego Public Library system. Learn more about Mobile Stories at MobileStories.org.
