I found a monument at a high spot in the ocean, so the game spawned water source blocks up to about 10 blocks above sea level. It won't need as much of a wall if I can remove the water, but any block updates will make a mess. Any suggestions?

This could be so much faster and larger. The area guardians can spawn is about 50x50x50! this farm can be way bigger. With a 50x50x5 high area you can have them die from fall damage and reach rates of over 100,000 items per hour

Hey Snocrash, I built this on Xbox 360 and it works thanks! Only problem is the TNT doesn't harm them or me when I stand close. Can I fix this?

Hey thanks again. Tried to build it just for materials. Didn't put the vines and string in. Mistake. I guess the drops were burning up because they weren't dropping. Added the vines and string and it of course worked like a charm. Thanks again, wasn't sure if I would find a doable farm after I had drained the damn thing.

So cool! I'm turning an ocean monument into my base so I'm thinking about building something similar to this underneath (in the cellar so to speak). Spawn rates will probably be very low, but then I really just want a very low key item collection. Just so the guardians that do spawn underneath my base have some sort of... raison d'être I suppose ;) The outside ones are my pretty aquarium pets after all :D

I built this on xbox one and after dismantling the temple no guardians will spawn

These videos are fantastic. With how lucidly you describe the events, a block by block tutorial becomes unneeded for anything less complicated than a redstone circuit.

Can anyone comment on the efficiency of the spawning area in this example? I've read that downward water flows only exert force against a wall, suggesting that a spawning pool cell should be two tiles wide. With the smallish pools in this example, it might be not a big deal, but if you make a really large pool it may start to matter.
Love the simplicity and versatility of the killing area. Nice work.
