Zu Dienle Tan, a graduate student at the University of Michigan, gives a presentation to classmates and professors about her research in the summer of 2015 in a coffee-growing region of southern Mexico. The group was based in a farmhouse that serves as a research station on the Finca Irlanda organic coffee plantation in the mountains above Tapachula in the state of Chiapas. Tan is a master's student in the School of Natural Resources and Environment, while some of the other graduate students were in the department of ecology and evolutionary biology in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts.
