Orr Orchards is a family owned and operated farm located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Started in 1954 by George S. Orr, Jr. on a 60 acre orchard on the east side of North Mountain, Orr Orchards has grown to well over 1,000 acres producing over a half million bushels of fruit annually. George's legacy of determination, innovation, and competition still carries on today and Orr's has diversified into specialty crops, a pick-your-own operation, and agrotourism events and activities. The family farm's premium fruits are grown using the utmost care by Mark orr, now the owner and orchard manager. The fruits are all carefully harvested by hand and then stored on the farm for packing and shipping to your local Harris Teeter and you.

Please post more videos including pest mgmt., fertilizing (if any), and cultivar selection. Can you tell us the pros and cons of different cultivars (apple. peach, pear, cherry) and why you choose to grow what you grow? I'd be very interested and I'm sure others would be as well. Do you ever host events pertaining to the backyard orchardists (at a cost of course)? WVU may be willing to help. (??)

Thank you for an awesome video. I am in Cumberland/Frostburg MD. and am interested in growing tree fruits for the home. So far, I've had mixed success, but my uncontrollable conditions (for a multitude of reasons) have been less than ideal. BTW...I love fruit, as does my wife and 2 children and we ALWAYS buy local fruit whenever available. WHY is more locally produced fruit not more readily available when I'm so close to you? I'm incl. WV,MD,PA and VA? Please post more videos.
