1. The turtles won't always pass salmonella when sampled. They only pass it when the defecate, and it is stored in their gut flora naturally. There is a reason that the sale of sliders under four inches was banned. Mainly because thousands of young kid's parents would buy them and the kids would eat them or not wash their hands and catch the disease. Turtles are not all that easy to care for too. Many people don't know what they're doing, and the animal ends up dying. We have to remember the turtles have feelings too. It seems like some of us don't care about the animal and his care about the money.

6. The fact is turtle farms rely on "impulse buys" from people looking for
    cute pets.  Turtles under 4" can still be found in many cities even though it is illegal.  RES are abandoned in natural ponds or artificial ponds and since they are an invasive species in states like CA they are caught and euthanized.  Please adopt homeless turtles from rescue groups.  The crisis of abandoned turtles is similar to dogs and cats dumped at shelters.
7. Its amazing how a clearly uneducated hick can make so much money off something he probably knows absolutely nothing about, and people are letting someone educated about turtles feed them, Absolutely disgusting. 
8. The vet was not very good at being a vet. 
9. The vet handled those turtles rather roughly. Also, they were not very careful to the eggs and the turtles look crowded. Mostly the hatchlings and 4in turtles

And one more question - I´m going to buy some Chelydra serpentina babies, I live in Czech republic (middle Europe) - is it possible to send some turtles here from u.s.a.? 18. Maybe if those selling baby turtles were honest with the buyers, we'd be willing to lift the restrictions. Of course, if the sellers where honest, there would be a lot fewer buyers. Sellers often claim the babies won't get any larger or that they don't need much care. These turtles can live up to 20, 30, even 50 years or more and grow up to 11". That is NOT the perfect pet for everyone.
