Located in the heart of Salinas Valley, the “Salad Bowl of America,” the Nunes family began farming in the 1930s and offer organic lettuces, celery, broccoli and cauliflower as well as kales, chards, beets and leeks. We visited the original family ranch and chatted to Tom Nunes, a proud fourth-generation family farmer. “Having retailers like Longo’s visit is important for them to help understand what goes into the harvest and production,” he said. “Being part of a family-owned business is a way of life, and it’s great to work with a business like Longo’s who shares our values.”
