Hey your videos are great! This would be a dream for me and my husband, we are still tied to the city financially and really only have ourselves to depend on. so I guess my question is how do you sustain yourselves financially? Any advice or tips?

+purelivingforlife looking back now would you have bought a bigger piece of land? Would you have rather had something bordering national forest land? I have debated parcels sizes from 5-100 acres. Thoughts?

I've been watching and enjoying many of your videos already. Love your project. Have long wanted to do something like this. I would say though, that if I only had 5 acres, I wouldn't cut down any more trees than are necessary to make room for the desired structures..

Consider a multilevel barn built into a hillside: you have vehicular entrances at all levels. Drive the hay in... don't fight gravity by putting it in a hayloft. Herd animals into the next level and let their used hay and feces drop to bottom level for cleaning. Also consider a central barn, so that You stand in the central circle and service the entire area from one location.
Rocks: Use rocks as fences, pasture boundaries. Plant corn so as to build up a soil overlay.
Keep as many trees as possible so as to hold and protect the soil. -

Have you guys considered building an earthship or possibly a container based home? You mentioned that the building codes are really lax and tires are free so its a win win :)

Love your channel. Would you know of any website or other source for information on areas (preferably in the N.W. or at least West),that have little or no zoning regulations? It would sure narrow my search. I currently live in Oregon where you need to have your nose inspected before you're allowed to blow it.
