The Ladd Funeral Home which was started by Ray Ladd in Rockville and is now owned by the Carmon Family, was completely renovated in 2010. The funeral home was completely remodeled and features refinished furniture that was built by the business' former owner Fred Turkington, as well as new additions from local furniture stores, Kloter Farms and Ladd & Hall Furniture Store. The building is completely handicapp accessible and has state of the art televisions and sound systems but still retains its classic New England charm. Carmon Community Funeral Homes operates eight funeral homes in North Central Connecticut. With locations in Windsor, Poquonock, Granby, Suffield, South Windsor, Avon, Vernon, Rockville and Avon, the family-owned firm strives to serve all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds with care and compassion. Carmon Funeral Home was the first funeral home to incorporate a crematory into the funeral in 1988 and they have maintained the highest standards of professionalism and excellence and have been recognized by state and national associations for their work.
