Scenes from the Charles Johnsen, Sr., farm in Campton Township, IL. The man driving the tractor at the beginning is Charles Johnsen, Jr. The next scene (:35) shows the Holstein cattle grazing—they had 55 head if memory serves. Johnsen, Sr., at :57. I'd identify more people and give dates, but I don't know them all. If you do, drop me a comment.

Look how skinny everyone was back then. Today people would die if they had to work on a farm like that. That's back when the country was strong, back before Elvis, the Beatles. When a buck was still silver and a joint a bad place to be, back before Nixon lied to us all on tv, when a girl could still cook and still would. It's the best of the free life's behind us now and the good times are over for good.

@MrGrinningManiac It's not stock footage for me. This is family. The guy on the tractor at the beginning is my grandfather. I've got more footage, all of it shot by my great-grandfather (the guy on the tractor's father-in-law), that I'll be putting up. Mostly so that the extended family can see it. If you like it, that's a plus.

I love old stock footage. But I have to ask - why are you uploading this? Not exactly in Latin or anything is it :P
