This is a video of 2 two year old stallions playing bad boy together. They are not fighting to kill or harm each other but to practice for when they get their own mares. NOTE: While these boys are together keep the fallowing in mind: They have never had a mare or been with a mare since their mothers. They have been together since they where weened. We have not had any problems with this method of keeping young stallions together and are even able to add yearlings to the 2 year olds. You will get an initial pecking order bulling going on. That's just the way horse culture works. Now stallions we have always keep separate. Once they hit the age of 3 we separate.Sometimes you get a very mellow fellow that you could keep longer with the younger horses but thats a 1 in 10 chance and isn't worth risking unless you spend a lot of time in the pastures to make sure no shenanigans are going on. I would never put 2 stallions together unless they had grown up together and have always been together. That means having never been separated for long than a week or two. Sometimes the fighting may look like its pretty wicked but in this case this is playing. They are always willing to break off the play when ever I get to close. If it was for real there would be nothing to stop them short of one stallion running for his life and praying the other gets bored and dose something else.
