Ireland’s economy has been suffering for several years, but one area that is doing well is farming. Food colleges have reported a huge rise in the number of students applying for courses, and argiculture is one of the few sectors hiring graduates. Al Jazeera's Laurence Lee reports.

Chris is right, ireland might have a high GDP but its so underdeveloped you won't find a single shop opened after midnight, and their big shops are downsizing

Ireland has GDP per capita (PPP) of nearly 42 000 dollars ^^ that's nowhere near "poor", it's above Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, Denmark, United Arab Emirates and Germany, and number 11 in the world... I'd say Ireland is one of the world's richest countries ^^ much so richer than the United Kingdom, France and Japan which falls as low as respectively 21, 22 and 23rd.
