I did this above ground it was a lot harder but with a few tweeks I was Abel to make it multiplayer compatible and dibble spanner thanx a lot I'm now rich on my survivle server

Why didn't you dig out the area underneath the spawner? That would have improved the spawn rates. Otherwise this is an elegantly simple design.

Exactly the video I was hoping to find! I have been an off/on MC player since beta, but have never been good at redstone contraptions. I recently started a new game in survival to see some of the changes and don't have a lot of play time (an hour or so every couple nights after work.) I found a spider spawner, and have been trying to figure out how to turn it into a farm without all the fuss of redstone, dispensers, crushers, etc.. I love the KISS principle (keep it simple stupid) and this is about as freaking simple as it gets! I'll be building this around my spawner the next time I play! Thank you!

Thanks very much for this, the fence post to stop them escaping and digging out the bottom of the walls have solved both the problems that have been f***ing up my double cave spider spawner set up. I could hear them but couldn't figure out where they were, until I put windows in and saw about 20 clinging to the ceiling! I haven't bothered with the drop yet but Im going to add it in. Great vid!
