A little background on Rehoboth, Massachusetts . . . Rehoboth was settled in 1636 and Incorporated in 1645. It is a rural community with a current population of approximately 12,060 spread over a 46.8 square mile area of farms, hills, forests, swamps, brooks, and rivers, specifically the Palmer River, which empties into the Narragansett Bay. Rehoboth's claim to fame is that our town is the birthplace of public Education in North America. Some local trivia about Rehoboth is, the town was once listed in the Guinness Book of Records for the town with the most golf courses in the United States. Rehoboth is also known as having the first tornado in the United States recorded by a European colonist in August of 1671. Rehoboth was even considered as a possible state capital; however, we lost that race to Boston which had a seaport. Rehoboth is a great place to live and raise a family.
